Jeremy Snyder grew up in Mandurah, Western Australia. When he left school he worked as an actor before studying at the University of Western Australia. After graduating from a Bachelor of Arts with 1st class Honours in Linguistics, he embarked on a PhD at the Australian National University. For his PhD he went to Indonesia where he fell in love with Dara Ayuningtyas, who grew up in a village outside of Yogyakarta, and fell in love with the country too. He quit his PhD and got married and started a family instead. On his return to Australia, Jeremy studied to become an Indonesian teacher and has been working in High Schools in Western Australia ever since. In 2015 Jeremy and Dara decided to create a YouTube Channel 'Dua Budaya' to share their passion for Indonesian culture and language with Australia and the world.
