On The Spot Series - Trans 7 TV
This entertaining series consists of video clips ranging from 6 - 10 minutes in duration. Each clips covers a different topic highlighting 7 unique or peculiar instances of that topic from 7 different parts of the world ( for example, 7 peculiar things about world currencies). What makes this into a good series of listening exercise for senior students is that they are exposed to topics of universal interest across all cultures so they will have a good contextual basis for making meaning from the text. Furthermore, the clips are not very long in length so the students will not be overwhelmed and should not become bored because of the topics being presented. Enjoy watching these clips with your students and having a lot of good discussion afterwards.
