One of the most common criticisms of the Resourceful Indonesian website made by its users is that they find it difficult to understand the often cryptic page titles and this makes it difficult for them to navigate their way around the site. The decision to delay all the executions until each of the convicted felons has exhausted all legal channels has momentarily taken the issue off the front pages and perhaps provided the breathing space for cooler heads to prevail in Jakarta where there is now open debate on the merits and hypocrisy of the death penalty for drugs-related offences.
20 Percent Should Suffice
The Speaker of the Indonesia’s House of Representatives has found himself embroiled in the largest corruption case in recent Indonesian history.
He has arranged secret meetings with executives of Freeport, the biggest miner and tax payer in Indonesia, and attempted to extort two billion dollars in shareholdings from the company claiming to be making the request on behalf of the President (Joko Widodo) who would receive 11 percent of the proceeds and the Vice President (Yusuf Kalla) who would receive 9 percent of the proceeds.
The suspicious executives from Freeport recorded the entire conversation and passed the tape onto the Energy Minister from where it was made public.
After denying the meeting even took place, today the Speaker claimed that he “was joking” when he asked for 20% of the company’s Indonesian operations.
Will "Mr Untouchable" finally lose his teflon coating and be brought down by his latest audacious move? It will be interesting to see how this plays out.

Fortunately, for Indonesia, things did not pan out this way.
Jokowi vs. Prabowo 2 - Here We Go Again
This page follows the 2019 Presidential Election, which, for the most part ran to the same script and ending as the 2014 election. In the dirtiest presidential elction in Indonesia's history. Jokowi was able to win with a comfortable majority of around 12 percent but this did not stop Prabowo from claiming victory on three occasions, calling for his followers to take their grievances to the streets and, again, appealing the election result in the Constitutional Court which, again, found in Jokowi's favour.
